Clock Chime Pendulum

My mother died July 1, two watches that had not raced for years AFEW suddenly started working! we need to know why

One had a Koo Koo clock had not worked for 3 years, the other is a Westminster chime clock keeps time, but pendulum back has not worked for at least 5 years. there is no explanation of why they started working. Please, Can someone explain this.w our mother loved deeply and have embraced it but we trying to tell us something.
