Dawoo Matiz problem. Please help me out.Couldn't figure out the exact problem.Experts please help me out?
Hi I have a Dawoo Matiz 1,00,000 miles on the clock. The car will work fine for some first 20 kms from the start, then the engine keeps cutting out dying and the car very badly slows down, but then this happens. Then i can drive the car but with very difficulty,i have to keep the revs high.At high revs the car moves very slowly as if its dying.I need to rev much a lot to move the car in first gear and then in second.it drags badly. If i park the car over night it starts ok drives great then this happens again. Has any one had a similar problem and does any one have any idea of
what could be causing this to happen.?please help me out of this.couldn't figure out the exact problem.
Sounds like you're missing the hot air pipe from the shield round the exhaust to the air intake.
Though icing used to be a much bigger problem when cars had carburettors, it can and does still happen with fuel injection. The intake system has to evaporate a lot of fuel and in doing so can get very cold. If the weather's humid then you can get ice forming in the inlet. That blocks it so the engine gets slower and slower until it stops.
When you let it stand for a while the ice melts and the car can continue as if nothing has happened.
The engine should have a hot air pipe from a metal "oven" round the exhaust to the inlet somewhere. That will preheat the air when needed and stop this.
I'll bet it's fallen off or come adrift.

Gears $11.98 By the mid-'70s, the embracing and assimilation of soul and funk elements into the jazz vernacular had come full steam. Artists and producers from both communities were exchanging ideas and sounds that once again challenged jazz purists' definitions of what jazz "should" be. These collaborations were often scoffed at by academics and critics attempting to pigeonhole and quantify jazz into an academic exercise ripe with songbook predictability and sonic parameters. Thankfully, the record-buying public at large had the good sense to politely ignore these people and continue purchasing records with these new sounds, largely concocted by the production team of Larry and Fonce Mizell. This time around, their subject was Johnny "Hammond" Smith who proves to be more than up to the task of playing around and inside the Mizell's string arrangements which foreshadowed the early days of disco. In fact, two of the cuts found on Gears -- "Fantasy" and "Los Conquistadores Chocolates" -- were played extensively at the early Loft parties hosted by legendary DJ David Mancuso, as well as at the club many consider to be the true home of disco, the Paradise Garage in NYC. Gears starts off innocently enough with "Tell Me What To Do," which could have easily found its way on to a Donald Byrd album from this period, but then kicks into full steam with "Los Conquistadores Chocolates," a six-and-a-half-minute tour de force of funk, soul, jazz and disco all rolled into one. Hammond is in fine form throughout with crisp playing; never over improvising, but playing only what's necessary to help the music move along at a brisk pace. This is unquestionably another jewel in a treasure chest already filled with so many for the Mizell production team, and a great performance by Hammond to keep up with his contemporaries who refuse to be held back by conventional wisdom. ~ Rob Theakston, All Music GuidePerformers: Larry Mizell - Solina, Vocals (Background); Fonce Mizell - Clavinet, Vocals (Background); Chuck Rainey - Bass (Electric); Hadley Caliman - Sax (Tenor); Roger Glenn - Flute, Vibraphone; Johnny Hammond - Organ, Piano (Electric), Synthesizer; Harvey Mason, Sr. - Drums; |

Moving $9.98 The trio's second album is a little less distinctive than its predecessor, which doesn't mean that it isn't a beautiful record -- just less obviously compelling in its melodies, and perhaps slightly less optimistic in mood. Having expended some of their best material on their debut, the trio reached further for songs here, including the Paul Stookey co-authored "Big Boat" and Mike Settle's "Settle Down (Goin' Down That Highway)," neither of which clicked as singles, despite rousing vocals on both and some distinctive guitar virtuosity on the former. The group once again reached back to the 1940s activist folk song tradition with Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land," but the track that everyone ended up knowing from Moving was from a very different corner of the folk tradition -- "Puff, the Magic Dragon" was introduced here and rose to number one as a single (and even made the Top 10 in the R&B charts), helping to propel Moving to number two as part of a 99-week chart run; and in those days, it was taken as a beautiful and gentle children's song that adults could enjoy, the myth of the song's supposed "drug" message not appearing until 1966. Other highlights include the haunting "Pretty Mary" and the startlingly intricate "A 'Soalin'," which became a highlight of their live act as well. Peter Yarrow remixed this album for reissue on CD in 1989, along with much of the rest of the group's classic Warner Bros. catalog, which has resulted in spectacular clarity and immediacy. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music GuidePerformers: Noel Paul Stookey - Vocals; Mary Travers - Vocals; Peter Yarrow - Guitar, Vocals |

Disraeli Gears $19.98 Cream teamed up with producer Felix Pappalardi for their second album, Disraeli Gears, a move that helped push the power trio toward psychedelia and also helped give the album a thematic coherence missing from the debut. This, of course, means that Cream get further away from the pure blues improvisatory troupe they were intended to be, but it does get them to be who they truly are: a massive, innovative power trio. The blues still courses throughout Disraeli Gears -- the swirling kaleidoscopic "Strange Brew" is built upon a riff lifted from Albert King -- but it's filtered into saturated colors, as it is on "Sunshine of Your Love," or it's slowed down and blurred out, as it is on the ominous murk of "Tales of Brave Ulysses." It's a pure psychedelic move that's spurred along by Jack Bruce's flourishing collaboration with Pete Brown. Together, this pair steers the album away from recycled blues-rock and toward its eccentric British core, for with the fuzzy freakout "Swlabr," the music hall flourishes of "Dance the Night Away," the swinging "Take It Back," and of course, the schoolboy singalong "Mother's Lament," this is a very British record. Even so, this crossed the ocean and also became a major hit in America, because regardless of how whimsical certain segments are, Cream are still a heavy rock trio and Disraeli Gears is a quintessential heavy rock album of the '60s. Yes, its psychedelic trappings tie it forever to 1967, but the imagination of the arrangements, the strength of the compositions, and especially the force of the musicianship make this album transcend its time as well. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music GuidePerformers: Ginger Baker - Drums, Vocals; Jack Bruce - Bass, Harmonica, Keyboards, Vocals; Eric Clapton - Guitar, Vocals |

Shifting Gears $9.98 Live, DJ Z-Trip infringes copyrights like nobody's business. He's won over turntable heads and jam band fans with his genre-jumping mash-ups, and his most influential moments have come in the form of MP3s that are traded well below the RIAA's radar. So how does a swashbuckling bootlegger of a DJ release an album on a major label? By declaring himself a "producer" and brewing up new tracks. But Z-Trip has a secret up his sleeve -- he's a great producer and able to celebrate the music he usually bites by capturing the spirit rather than just copying it. Shifting Gears is a reminiscing album that is in love with a time when breakdancers and b-boys ruled and living without your Adidas was just impossible. There's plenty of breakbeats, vocoders, and "to the beat y'all"s, but there's also a bunch of up-to-date rapping from the alternative rappers and a wealth of furious scratching that is more concerned with tearing it up than nostalgia. Z-Trip is a monster behind the decks, so much so that it's easy to ignore Shifting Gears' rock-solid base. Firm infectious beats fill the album, supporting both the DJ's own scratch-fests and complementing the style of every rapper who stops by. A phat, quirky beat supports Murs' uplifting and innocent ode to Saturday morning cartoons and sugary cereals, while Lyrics Born gets some tasty bongo loops and Gap Band-style synth to anchor down his party chant. Giving Chuck D a Rick Rubin-y crunch behind him seems like a cop-out, but it's still a serviceable track. On the other hand, Z-Trip's team-up with Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington falls flat with forced angst from the vocalist and surprisingly drab, faux-noir backing from the Z man. Of course, one monkey don't stop no show, and the rest of Shifting Gears is more than you'd expect from a turntablist full-length and a great argument for Z-Trip as producer. ~ David Jeffries, All Music GuidePerformers: Isaiah Owens - Keyboards; Xander Smith - Guitar |
