How you fix a thermometer that controls the heater in my house?
My meter of my heater is broken. A normal meter should turn on/off heat as it reaches or fall below my setted temperature. But my thermometer keeps the heat going even if it went way overboard my setting. How do you fix it? Is it something you can buy a new one and install if by yourself? The thing is kinda stuck to the wall...so I think the latter won't work...
It is called a thermostat. You can purchase a new one. The cover is usually just held on by a slight pressure and can be easily pulled off. You will then see the screws that hold it to the wall and the wires that operate it. Make sure you get one that is compatible with your heating system.
