I have a VERY LARGE CLOCK and it uses batteries like crazy...how do I convert it to my electrical outlet?
We want to convert the AA Battery to something that we can plug into our regular 110 home power source. The clock is about 3-4 across and we tried using rechargeble batteries. I love it and want to keep using it, but I refuse to change batteries every 4 days! (It is a pain to put on the wall!)
We have used both rechargeble and "regular" batteries. When we first bought the clock the batteries lasted 6 weeks (or so) and then the next set lasted 2 weeks and then from there it just got shorter...
There appears to be something wrong with the clock if it uses batteries every 4 days. Does this apply to regular Alkaline type batteries also?
To convert the power from batteries to wall socket power, you need to tap off of the probable Red(+) and Black(-) wires going to the battery compartment or holder and wire them to a coaxial type power jack, maintaining proper polarity, which will be accessible without removing the Clock From it's mounting. Then, buy a Battery eliminator Wall Transformer type power source that has the same voltage and current capability per the specifications of the clock power input. This Wall transformer should have a Barrel or coaxial type power plug that will mate with the previously installed power jack. These parts should be available at Radio Shack and online stores.

Added info: There is definitely something wrong with the clock. You probably should take it to a professional before trying to convert it's power input source.
